Damon Morey partner Julie M. Bargnesi recently co-presented a seminar at the Buffalo Club outlining a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that now allows arbitration provisions in New York State nursing homes’ admissions agreements. Bargnesi, along with Mark O’Brien and Ron Adamczak of Lawley Insurance, explained how to avoid costly litigation with nursing home residents.


The Buffalo-based law firm of Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman appointed Matt Chandler marketing director. Chandler was editor of the Buffalo Law Journal. He is a graduate of Hesser College. Also, the firm named Joseph Heins an associate. Heins is a Canisius College graduate and earned his J.D. from Notre Dame School of Law.

The Buffalo Bills announced a multiyear partnership with Duff’s Famous Wings. Duff’s will serve boneless wings in its four branded concession stands, along with bone-in and boneless wings in the suites and clubs. Also, various Duff’s locations will host four editions of the John Murphy Show throughout the year.


Erie Engineered Products, North Tonawanda, was awarded a $71,540 federal contract for shipping and storages from the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command, Philadelphia.


Applebee’s restaurants in Western New York raised more than $214,000 for Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York. The restaurant chain has Make-A-Wish star magnets, hosted wish dinners, held décor auctions and a variety of other events to raise the monies.
