Career Brunch / Teens look to the future

St. Amelia Catholic Church in Tonawanda held a Career Brunch last Sunday for students in grades eight through 12. The teens informed the St. Amelia Youth Ministry of jobs they would like to learn about, and the ministry found professionals to spend the morning talking with the students. At left, Charles Rizzo, a retired police captain from the Town of Tonawanda, talks to Shannon Smith, 15, of Sacred Heart Academy, and Michael Buckley, 17, of North Tonawanda High School. In photo at right, Joanna Long, 14, of St. Amelia’s School, left, and Megan McGraw, 15, of Mount St. Mary Academy, listen to Joan Taylor, a veterinary technician at the Sheridan Animal Hospital in the Town of Tonawanda.
