Review: Tuscany on Main

With all the hustle and bustle that comes with the year’s holidays, there’s an important one coming in about six weeks – she brought you into this world and deserves to be remembered on a special day – it’s Mother’s Day! If she’s usually the one making sure there’s a warm, home-cooked meal for you when you come home, then Tuscany on Main is the perfect place to find a gift to show your mom how much she means to you.

Located on Main Street in East Aurora, the shop sells olive oils and balsamic vinegars, which can be combined to make a great gift basket.

Tuscany on Main offers a variety of olive oil flavors, including mushroom, garlic and jalapeño, as well as 24 different kinds of extra virgin olive oils. It also carry balsamic vinegar flavors like apple, blackberry, cherry, chocolate, cranberry, espresso, fig, honey ginger, lemon, peach, pomegranate, strawberry, vanilla and champagne.

These olive oils and vinegars are perfect for spicing up a delicious salad, other vegetables or a pasta dish.

Tuscany on Main also gives out free samples daily and offers little bread slices for you use when tasting the products.

In addition, you will find a grand selection of pastas and pasta sauce, cheeses, olives, sausages, dips and spreads, Italian chocolates, freshly baked bread, cookbooks and spices. Gift baskets come already prepared or you can create one.

The venue is very clean and has a nice, warm feel to it. Everything is reasonably priced, and the employees are more than helpful. On the first Thursday of every month, Tuscany hosts tastings based on the theme of the month.

In February, there was an assortment of desserts along with wine and lemonade. One of the dishes served was bacon-wrapped dates, which was absolutely amazing. The place is definitely family oriented, and the last time I went to one of its events, the line was out the door. People were lining up to get a taste of Tuscany. I love everything I’ve ever had from Tuscany on Main.
