Tonawanda man succeeds in court-ordered drug treatment

LOCKPORT – A City of Tonawanda man received a conditional discharge Monday from Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas after having been in the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment for more than 3 1/2 years.

Brian P. Moody, 32, of Wheeler Street, had pleaded guilty in August 2010 to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling oxycodone in the Town of Niagara Sept. 15, 2008. Monday, his charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.

“Everyone is so proud of you,” Farkas told Moody, who graduated after being in diversion nearly twice as long as the two-year period the program is designed for.
