Help offered to get more Niagara Falls businesses online

Small businesses in Niagara Falls that lack a website - and are missing out on possible customers - can get some help establishing an online presence at a workshop Thursday.

The event, which coincides with Google's "Get Your Business Online" Week, is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls, 101 Old Falls St.

Google is offering web development tools and one year of free hosting for companies' websites.

The event is sponsored by the City of Niagara Falls, Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce and Niagara University's Global Tourism Institute.

"This is a great opportunity for businesses to take advantage of Google’s offer to maximize their global presence,” Deanna Alterio Brennen, president and CEO of the Niagara USA Chamber, said in a written statement.
