Sage Rifkin of East Aurora, captured the gold medal in the recent USSA Junior National Championship’s Big Air Event in Park City, Utah. She also finished fourth in the Aerial event and fifth in the Super Combined. Morghan Socha, also of East Aurora, won a bronze medal in the Big Air event.
The Junior Nationals bring together the top competitors from around the country. They compete in moguls, dual moguls, aerials, big air, halfpipe, and slopestyle.
Registration for the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge has opened. The 3.5-mile run promotes corporate fitness while benefiting a local not-for-profit organization. The YMCA Buffalo Niagara was the 2013 beneficiary.

The tournament includes ten brackets (fifth-sixth grade boys, fifth-sixth grade girls, seventh grade boys, seventh grade girls, eight grade boys, eighth grade girls, ninth-10th grade boys, ninth-10 grade girls, 11th-12th grade boys and 11th-12th grade girls).
