Bucs receiver, Riverside product Williams, stabbed in thigh; brother sought

Mike Williams was released from a Tampa hospital late Sunday after allegedly being stabbed in the thigh by his brother, according to an report.

A spokeswoman from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Williams, the former Riverside High School star, was stabbed at his home in the Avila community north of Tampa Sunday afternoon. Williams’ brother Eric Baylor, 23, was charged with the stabbing and an arrest warrant on the charge of aggravated battery/domestic violence has been issued for him, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to NFL Media.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers confirmed the incident when the organization issued the following statement: “We are aware of the situation that occurred at the residence of Mike Williams and are working with him and the authorities to get additional information. While we have limited knowledge at this time, our primary concern is for the safety and well being of all involved. We will refrain from further comment until we can get a better understanding of the situation.”

The Tampa Bay Times reported the wound was “a relatively minor laceration.”

This isn’t Williams’ first brush with the law, although this time he’s the victim. Williams, who signed a $40 million contract last offseason, currently faces trespassing and criminal mischief charges after an incident in December and has had multiple domestic problems, including damaging neighbor’s property.
