The second annual Ride For Bryce, held in memory of Bryce Buchholz, a 14-year-old Elma resident who was killed by a drunken driver while riding his bicycle in May 2012, is scheduled for May 4.

The ride is a fundraiser for the BMX/skate park being built in Bryce’s memory in the village.

Participants may ride 3 or 14 miles through the village and town. Additional activities, open to the public, include a classic car cruise, raffles, games and a post-ride party.

The nonrefundable registration fee is $10 in advance and $15 the day of the event. The fee includes a hot dog and drink. Pre-registration can be done online at

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. at Bowen Grove. The ride will take place rain or shine, and helmets are required.

• The Lancaster School Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday in the John A. Sciole Elementary School, 86 Alys Drive, Depew.

• A Village Board work session begins at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by a regular meeting at 7, in the Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway.

• Zonta Club of Cheektowaga-Lancaster is hosting “The A, B, Cs of Zonta,” their Lucky Numbers Luncheon, Saturday in Samuel’s Grande Manor, 8750 Main St., Clarence. Prize viewing begins at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Tickets are $25; call Zonta Club at 536-2909.
