Two actors take on 15 roles in ICTC’s ‘Stones in His Pockets’

When big films come to small towns, hilarious events are bound to ensue.

That’s more or less the premise of Marie Jones’ “Stones in His Pockets,” a two-man show about a big-budget Hollywood movie that descends on a small village in Ireland’s County Kerry. It focuses on the crew’s woefully misguided attempts to create an idealized image of Irish culture. Its two stars, in this case Christopher Evans and Kevin Craig, are charged with portraying more than a dozen town characters, both male and female. The show also has some darker undertones, as its title makes reference to. It’s been generally well received by critics and fans since its debut in 1996 in Belfast.

Christian Brandjes, a familiar face at ICTC, directs the show. It opens Friday in the Andrews Theatre (625 Main St.) and runs through March 23. Call 853-4282 or visit
