Sam’s Club poised to move into plaza on Military Road

NIAGARA FALLS – Sam’s Club is ready to move forward with plans to build a new location in the Walmart plaza on Military Road, just south of the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.

The company will be closing its existing store less than two miles away on Porter Road in the Town of Niagara, a spokesman said.

Company representatives went to building and inspections officials in City Hall this week as they prepare to begin construction on a 137,000-square-foot building that will cost between $9 million and $10 million. The site also will have a gas station.

The Sam’s Club store will be in the northeast corner of the Military Road site, which is owned by Benderson Development.

Company representatives told city representatives they hope to complete construction by October.
