Bulletin Board for Jan. 24

The West Seneca Wings Squirt Tier II team won The Three Rivers Cup in Pittsburgh, its second tournament win of the season.

Aidan Hughes (West Seneca) scored the game-winning goal with less than 10 minutes left in regulation, to win over the Royal Oak (Michigan) Eagles, 3-2. He finished the tournament with four goals and two assists.

Goaltenders Maximus Blachowicz (East Aurora) and Nicholas Capozzi (Elma) were named tournament co-MVP’s with a 4-0 record. The pair gave up just seven goals in four games and combined for a shutout in a game three win against the Cambridge, Ontario Hornets.

Owen Hughes (West Seneca) led the team in scoring with five goals and eight points, including a shorthanded goal and successful penalty shot. Jacob Bily (Cheektowaga) added five goals as well, while Kyle Hoare (Lancaster) notched four assists and Ty Moran (Marilla) chipped in with three goals.

The rest of the team includes; Michael Capozzi (Elma), Nicholas Capozzi (Elma), Evan Harrington (West Seneca), Connor Heer (West Seneca), Kyle Keane (Depew), Matthew Keane (Orchard Park), Evan Kosinski (Lancaster), Jack Krug (West Seneca), Dawson Lillis (West Seneca), Alex Pawlik (West Seneca) and Luke White (West Seneca).

SOCCER: Hilbert College is hosting its second annual futsal soccer tournament for high school aged players on Sunday, Mar. 2. Tournament is a 4v4+GK futsal format; guaranteed 17-minute games; all teams make playoffs; athletic trainer on site; all players must be between 14-18 years old.
