Zoo acquires sea lion from Aquarium of Niagara

The Buffalo Zoo announced Wednesday that it obtained a California Sea Lion in December from the Aquarium of Niagara.

Jester, a male, had been there for seven years after spending four years in the United States’ marine mammal Navy program.

He was born at SeaWorld, Orlando, Fla., in May 2002.

Jester, 11, replaces Pocus, who died July 1, 2013.

He joins Dallas, 14, also a male, in the zoo’s Sea Lion Cove exhibit.

The two will take turns in the exhibit until they get to know each other, an official said.
