The Erie County Dental Society installed Dr. Amy L. Rappold president. Rappold is a dentist with a private practice in Cheektowaga.


The National Parkinson’s Foundation of Western New York appointed Valerie E. Pillo executive director. Pillo, a Niagara Falls resident, worked for Independent Health for six years. The Buffalo State College graduate was a reporter for the Niagara Gazette and chief of staff for former Assemblywoman Francine Delmonte.


Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel partner Gayle Eagan will receive the Community Leader Legal Award from the National Federation for Just Communities of Western New York. Eagan will be honored at the 61st annual Community Leader Award Celebration luncheon Jan. 29 in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

U.S. Innovative Construction, Tonawanda, was awarded a $69,800 federal contract for the recabling of elevators 7, 8, 9 and 12 at the Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Western New York Health Care System, Cheektowaga. Place of performance will be in Buffalo.


Catholic Health will receive $250,000 in a two-year grant from the John R. Oishei Foundation to help relocate, expand and enhance primary care services at the Lovejoy-St. Vincent Health Center on Bailey Avenue in Buffalo. The funding will support the creation of the St. Vincent Health Center in the new Erie County Health Mall at 1500 Broadway. In addition to the current services offered at the Lovejoy-St. Vincent Health Center, which include adult primary care and internal medicine, the new center will offer OB-GYN services, including prenatal care; physical, occupational and speech therapy; and a laboratory service center.
