Man accused of attempting to run another man over following an argument

NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls man allegedly hit a man with his Chevrolet Tahoe in a parking lot on Pierce Avenue at 1 p.m. Tuesday and fled following an argument.

Timothy S. Saunders, 50, of LaSalle Avenue was stopped by police at 1:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Linwood Avenue and charged with attempted second-degree assault with a weapon.

The victim told police the suspect, later identified as Saunders, got into his vehicle, circled the parking lot and then drove at him, causing him to go up and over the roof.

Saunders told police he was leaving the store when he was confronted by two men and got into his vehicle and was trying to drive away.

Police met with the injured man in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and said the extent of his injuries are unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
