A 7-Eleven clerk is accused of stealing from her employer

NIAGARA FALLS – A clerk was charged Tuesday with stealing $500 by fraudulently loading funds onto a prepaid credit card at a 7-Eleven store on Niagara Street.

Erika N. Simmons, 27, of Fifth Street, Niagara Falls, was charged with petit larceny.

According to the manager, Simmons loaded $500 onto a MoneyPack card and had a friend ring up a second MoneyPack card with no balance, The two cards were swapped out, returning the second card, which allowed Simmons to leave with the original card with the $500 balance.

Simmons admitted to the theft when confronted, the store manager told police.
