Three films on Buffalo’s art scene to screen Friday

Buffalo’s always-bustling visual arts scene is getting a whole lot of love lately from local documentarians, and some of that affection will go on display at 6 p.m. Friday in the Allendale Theatre (203 Allen St.) in a screening of three promotional films about the community.

Two of those films are by John Paget, who has collaborated with the region’s tourist agency, Visit Buffalo Niagara, to produce some of the most widely shared videos about Buffalo in recent years. The screening will feature the debut of his new film “ArtBFLO,” which follows three local artists prepping for gallery shows. Another short promo film, “Buffalo for Real: First Fridays,” released last year, also will be shown.

The event includes the premiere of Nate Peracciny’s “Streets of Art,” which chronicles the birth of the Allen Street Street Art Collective, which is responsible for transforming a small section of Allentown with newly commissioned murals. The screening is part of Allentown’s monthly First Fridays event, for which more than a dozen galleries and art spaces will open their doors to roving visitors.

Call 852-0511 or visit for more information on the screening or for more information on the gallery walk.
