Falls police charge a teen for his role in a masked armed robbery

NIAGARA FALLS – A 17-year-old who allegedly pointed a gun at a clerk in the robbery of a 19th Street store, was found by police and charged on Wednesday. A second male still was being sought.

Sharod L. Gulley of Cudaback Avenue was arraigned in City Court on Thursday on charges of first and second-degree robbery and was remanded to Niagara County Jail on $100,000 bail. He was also charged in an unrelated incident from Sept. 11 on Memorial Parkway with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.

A clerk at Mark’s Food Mart in the 300 block of 19th Street said two males, both of them wearing masks, went into the store at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money. One, who was armed with a handgun, was later identified as Gulley. An unidentified male jumped over the counter and took cigarettes and the money in the cash register.

Police searching the area spotted two men who matched the description and arrested Gulley. The other male remains at large.
