St. Joe’s skinny: Also lost to tough teams (31-21 to Aquinas; 56-7 at Cathedral Prep of Pa.). Injuries took major toll in recent weeks; outstanding sr. RB/LB Rod Payne is out for the year with a knee injury. Sr. Nigel Davis is tremendous as RB/DB/K.

Playoff implications: The winner of today’s game will win the Monsignor Martin regular season title and the loser will take second place. Canisius and St. Joe’s have clinched the first-round byes that accompany the top two spots in the standings.

Monsignor Martin playoffs: Quarterfinals next week; semifinals (Nov. 14, 5 and 7:30 p.m.) and championship (Nov. 21, 7 p.m.) will be held on Thursdays at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
