Rochester members of Teamsters Local 118 have voted to reject a Wegmans contract its officers tentatively agreed to.
Wegmans declined to comment about what terms were at issue, but said the rejected contract contained a $1,000 lump sum payment for full-time employees, a $500 lump sum payment for part-time employees, an 18 percent pay increase over six years, a retirement assistance package valued at $10 million and a move from a Teamsters controlled retirement plan to a fully-funded Wegmans retirement plan.
The contract affects more than 900 Wegmans truck drivers, warehouse workers and mechanics based in Rochester. Teamsters could not be reached for comment. Teamsters rejected Wegmans’ “final” contract offer Sept. 30, resumed negotiations Oct. 11 and reached a tentative agreement Oct. 12.
