Outreach on county senior services set in Aurora

Erie County Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo will host a community outreach meeting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Aurora Senior Center, 101 King St, East Aurora.

At the meeting, Lorigo will share with seniors the various services offered by the county, answer residents’ questions and concerns, and distribute free Yellow Dot packets.

Provided by the state Sheriffs’ Association, the packets assist first responders at the scene of a vehicle accident or home emergency by alerting them to a patient’s pre-existing medical concerns.

A yellow sticker included in the packet is placed on the vehicle or residence, which directs emergency medical technicians to a patient’s glove compartment or refrigerator door to check the Yellow Dot form, which contains medical condition, medications and contact information.
