Merchants Insurance Group appointed Thomas A. Meyers vice president and chief financial officer. Meyers, a CPA, obtained his bachelor’s degree from Houghton College and his MBA from the University at Buffalo.
The University at Buffalo and Kaleida Health jointly appointed Dr. Carroll McWilliams Harmon chief of the division of pediatric surgery and director of the pediatric surgery fellowship at the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and pediatric surgeon-in chief at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. Harmon is professor and director of pediatric surgical research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, and his Phd and MD at the Vanderbilt University.
Lumsden & McCormick named Rose-Anne O’Leary a senior accountant. O’Leary worked at KPMG in Toronto as a tax specialist. She earned both a masters and bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo.
The University at Buffalo appointed Brice Bible vice president and chief information officer. Bible currently is chief information officer at Ohio University. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Tennessee Technological University and a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee.
CCS Oncology recently welcomed Dr. Sahar Chitgar to its division of gynecologic oncology. Chitgar graduated from Tehran Azad Medical University, Tehran, Iran. She completed her OB/GYN residency at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago and Prentice Women’s Hospital-Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She is co-director of the minimally invasive surgery fellowship at UB.
The University at Buffalo School of Management named Erin O’Brien assistant dean and administrative director of graduate programs. O’Brien was director, business relationship management at HealthNow New York. PShe holds a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and an MBA from the UB School of Management.
Meals on Wheels for Western New York named Christine Procknal the director of support and facility services for the organization. Procknal received her bachelor’s degree from Saint Lawrence University and her MBA from Canisius College.
Solar Liberty named Robert S. Gauchat vice president sales and marketing. Gauchat, a John Carroll University graduate, received his MBA from the University at Buffalo. The company also named Andrew J. Weber project administrator, Alan J. Pilarski mechanical engineer, and Yu Chen electrical engineer. Weber received his bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. Pilarski received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton. Chen received her master’s degree from the University at Buffalo and her bachelor’s degree from Shandong University in China.
HoganWillig Attorneys at Law named Robert W. Michalak of counsel. Michalak previously worked at Michalak & Dobson. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Detroit Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree and JD from University of Houston,
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center appointed Christin M. LoFaso director of in-person assistors/navigation to help people shop for and enroll in health insurance. LoFaso holds a master’s degree in public health from Walden University and bachelor’s degrees from Canisius College.
Lake Shore Behavioral Health appointed Chris Lunsford program director of Linwood Community Services. Lunsford was a senior counselor at Horizon Health Services. She has a master’s degree from the University at Buffalo. Also, the agency promoted Kelly Whitman to program director of The Lighthouse, a residential substance abuse treatment facility for pregnant and parenting women. Whitman has master’s degree from UB.
Accessium Billing & Consulting, a division of Accessium Group, named Tamila Kaczmarek chief business officer. Kaczmarek, who is an owner/partner of Accessium Billing & Consulting, was chief operating officer for Assertive Medical Practice Management in West Seneca.
