Orchard Park man charged with Leandra’s Law violations

A man who had three, 13-year-old passengers in his car was charged with driving while intoxicated late Thursday after a traffic stop in Orchard Park, police reported this morning.

Paul A. Larson, 51, of Orchard Park, was pulled over on Big Tree Road at about 10:10 p.m. for driving with no tail lamps, police said. Three boys were in the car with him.

Larson was charged with DWI after field sobriety tests, police said, and a breath test indicated he had a blood-alcohol content of .20.

Larson also was charged with six violations of Leandra’s Law – which makes it a felony to drive drunk with a passenger 15 years old or younger, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He remained in custody pending arraignment.
