Summit on alternatives to standardized school testing to be held Wednesday at Kleinhans

Partnership for Smarter Schools will present Summit for Smarter Schools, a community-wide forum that will examine alternatives to standardized testing in public schools across the state.

Featured speakers include Mark Crawford, superintendent of West Seneca Central Schools; Jaekjung Lee, Dean of the University at Buffalo’s Graduate School of Education; and Mark Garrison, author of “Measurement of Failure” and director of doctoral programs at D’Youville College.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kleinhans Music Hall.

Also sponsoring the event are State Senators George Maziarz and Tim Kennedy as well as Assemblyman Sean Ryan.
