The Buffalo Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority will have a dessert meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in Friendly’s Restaurant, 4350 Maple Road, Amherst. Cassandra Pershyn will be the hostess. The cost will be $7.50 for a sundae, coffee and tea, or $2.50 for coffee or tea.
Members are asked to bring Halloween treats that will be used for collegiate goodie bags. Michelle Kenyon is in charge of candy and raffle.
Save Around Buffalo books for the fall fundraiser will be available to the membership at the meeting. Members will be selling the books for $20 through October. The calling committee should have their reservation count to Cassie by Friday.
Women’s Club of Orchard Park will meet at noon Oct. 9 in the Orchard Park Municipal Center. Bill Hartung from the Antique Mall will be the guest speaker. Members may bring an item for appraisal.
The club will have its annual Scholarship Luncheon on Oct. 12 at Columns Banquet Hall at Altons, 2221 Transit Road, Elma. Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. A theme basket silent auction will be held. Tickets are $20. Reservation must be made before Friday.
Dorothy Bachman, president of the New York State Federation of Women’s Clubs, will be a featured speaker at the Greater Western District meeting Oct. 10 at Protocol Restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, Williamsville.
Greater Western District Director Margaret Brunson will greet attendees at 9:45 a.m., following registration at 9:15.
NYSFWC President-Elect Rosemary Brown will speak about the 2013-14 projects at the state level.
Kathy Meyers, Aurora Women’s Club, will be introduced as the nominee for NYSFWC recording secretary. Election will be held at the April 2014 state meeting. She is a past president of Aurora Women’s Club, district director in this area, and serves as corresponding secretary for Western New York Federation of Women’s Clubs.
Reservations for the noon luncheon are being taken by Kathy Meyers. Guests are welcome.
