High BAC level leads to aggravated DWI charge in Amherst

State Police at Clarence arrested an Amherst man early Monday morning for felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI, after accusing him of registering a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

Troopers stopped Michael W. O’Shea, 43, of Robin Road, for changing lanes unsafely and having a suspended registration a few minutes after midnight on Main Street in Amherst.

O’Shea registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.25 percent, state police stated.

Troopers also charged him with consuming alcohol in a vehicle, driving with a suspended registration and moving from a lane unsafely, according to police reports.
