It will be a family affair of sorts when Cindy Coburn Carroll, her parents, Frank and Doris Coburn, as well as Bill Truman and Glenn Snyder are inducted into the Tonawandas USBC Association Hall of Fame on Nov. 16 at Classic V in Amherst. Carroll and Truman will be inducted for outstanding ability; the Coburns and Snyder will be honored for meritorious service. The Lou Reuter Memorial Scholarship run will be raced over a new course when it takes place at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 20 in Town of Tonawanda. The fourth annual mile run/walk and 5K will start at Ben Franklin Middle School and finish on the track within Adams Field, passing the Lou Reuter press box. Proceeds will go to the Lou Reuter scholarship fund. The walk starts at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K run follows at 10 a.m. The walk/run will be held the day after the Kenmore East-Kenmore West football game, which will be held Saturday at Crosby Field.

Entry fee for the race is $20 and the first 200 to register will receive a T-shirt. You can register online with a credit card at Call 983-5584.


The Athletic Hall of Fame selection committee for Kenmore West high school has announced the Hall of Fame Class of 2013. The group will be inducted Oct. 18 at Banchetti’s by Rizzo. The class includes: Robert Doerr Sr. (‘59), Susan Falsone (‘92), George Farley (‘56), Jeff Gruendike (‘00), Sean Kibrick (‘95), James Mallory (‘05), Michael Sylves (‘00) and Gary Warner (‘56).
