Niagara Falls police release name of shooting victim

NIAGARA FALLS – Tijuana Davis, 39, of North Avenue, was identified Sunday as the victim who was fatally shot at about 4 a.m. Saturday during a confrontation inside her apartment, police said.

Two North Carolina residents who were visiting the area to attend a wedding have been charged in Davis’ death. Richard H. Moore, 50, and Cammesoa M. Williams, 42, both of Winston-Salem, N.C., were arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal use of a firearm, according to Police Lt. Michael Trane.

Police said the pair met Davis through a friend. Later, Moore shot Davis in the abdomen during a confrontation at the victim’s apartment, police said. Moore and Williams briefly left the scene in their rental car following the shooting and then returned, after which Williams shot Davis in the buttocks with the same handgun that Moore had earlier used to shoot the victim, police added.
