Loss estimated at more than $4,000 in Newfane break-in

NEWFANE – Niagara County sheriff’s deputies investigated a pair of house burglaries Friday, including one at a Dale Road home where the loss was estimated at more than $4,000.

The home was entered through an unlocked side door between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., deputies said. Stolen were a laptop, two videogame systems, games and accessories, a 44-inch TV, a purse containing $200 in cash and some prescription medications, deputies said.

In the second case, a burglar entered a home on Ridge Road in Gasport between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. through a kitchen window, deputies said, and stole the window screen and about 50 diabetes pills, deputies said.
