Lockport man to be sentenced in Newfane bank holdup

TOWN OF LOCKPORT – A Lockport man will be sentenced Oct. 18 on his guilty plea in the Jan. 2 holdup of the Bank of America branch in Newfane, according to Niagara County sheriff’s investigators.

James M. Williams, 31, is accused of disgusing himself with sunglasses and white tape on his face, handing a note to a teller, then making off with an undetermined amount of money.

Williams, who pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree robbery, will be sentenced by Niagara County Court Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas.
