Falls doctors confirm hand injury had nothing to do with gunshot

NIAGARA FALLS – An 18-year-old Niagara falls man told police he was shot in the hand during a house party early Saturday but doctors said X-rays showed no evidence of a bullet wound.

The 22nd Street resident told police he was at a party in the 2200 block of Linwood Avenue about 1:30 a.m. when he fought with another man, heard a gunshot and then felt pain in his left hand, authorities said.

The man walked to nearby Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, where doctors said he suffered cuts to the hand, but was not shot, police said. He was released after treatment.
