Man sent to prison for selling counterfeit ‘Sons of Anarchy’ items

A Wayne County man was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to five months in prison and five months home confinement for selling counterfeit items from the TV show “Sons of Anarchy."

Ryan Breen, 33, of Savannah, also was ordered to pay $5,394 in restitution to Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment Group, producer and exclusive owner of the FX series.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Fauzia K. Mattingly said Breen was the owner and operator of various web sites that offered counterfeit T-shirts and goods using the Sons of Anarchy trademark without the permission of Fox.

Breen’s sentencing is the result of an investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations.
