SILVER CREEK – Students in two neighboring districts will be sharing athletic programs with Silver Creek students.
At the regular meeting of the Board of Education on Wednesday in the high school, Silver Creek agreed to share services with both Fredonia and Forestville.
Fredonia Central School girls swimming will be part of the shared program. For Forestville students, the shared programs include: boys varsity soccer, boys and girls modified soccer, modified, junior varsity and varsity football, and boys and girls cross country.
School Board members acted on a number of appointments Wednesday, including naming Mike Wieloszynski chairman of the music department.; Shannon Aures-Karcz a secretary; Jane Gens a family and consumer science teacher, half-time; Bethanie Keem as a half-time music teacher; and Katelin Adamczak and Amanda Miller as cleaners.
The board also agreed to a contract with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for a school resource officer. The officer will be in the school on a part-time basis.
In addition, board members received committee appointments from School Board President Martha Howard.
