Keddie will be honored among 81 fallen firefighters

SHERIDAN – The late Ronald J. Keddie, a state fire instructor for more than 30 years and a Sheridan firefighter and former chief for 41 years, will be among the firefighters honored Oct. 6 at the National Fire Academy’s 32nd annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Emmitsburg, Md. A Navy veteran of Vietnam War service, Keddie died after suffering a heart attack while preparing to respond to a minor Chautauqua County motor vehicle accident June 27, 2012, at age 64.

He is among the 81 firefighters nationwide being honored during the upcoming memorial service. Family members of all the honored firefighters will be given flags flown over the U.S. Capitol.
