UB student’s death still under investigation

The death of an 18-year-old University at Buffalo student whose body was found Sunday in a University Heights house at 93 Winspear Ave. does not appear to involve foul play, police said.

An autopsy conducted Monday on the student, who is from Rochester and lived here, has been classified by the Erie County Medical Examiner’s office as “investigation pending,” meaning the cause of death at this point is inconclusive, according to police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.

Toxicology tests are now being conducted that may help in determining how the student died, authorities said. He was found by friends in an unresponsive state at about 12:30 p.m., and may have died several hours earlier, according to police.
