Harriet H. Fox, 92, Variety Club volunteer, Trico worker

Sept. 10, 1921 – Sept 19, 2013

Harriet H. Fox, 92, a retired secretary who was active with the Variety Club and other community groups, died Thursday at her Buffalo home.

Born in East Aurora, the former Harriet Hall attended Carnegie Mellon University and Alfred Technical College. A lifelong learner, she also audited courses at Erie Community College when she was 88.

She had a friend who was 44 and did not want to be the oldest person in the class, so Mrs. Fox offered to go with her friend so she would be the oldest.

Mrs. Fox worked at Trico from 1968 to 1985.

She was a longtime member of Variety Club Tent 7 and Quota International, and worked at last year’s telethon.

In addition, Mrs. Fox devoted much time volunteering at Buffalo General Hospital and the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site.

She is survived by two sons, Harrison and Robert H.

A funeral service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. today in the Lancaster Chapel of Zurbrick-Amigone Funeral Home, 5615 Broadway, Lancaster.
