Silver Springs woman arrested for welfare fraud

WARSAW – A 60-year-old Silver Springs woman was released on her own recognizance following her arraignment on welfare fraud charges in Warsaw Town Court, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s office reported Friday.

Linda Jakubik, of Bigelow Avenue, was charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and third-degree welfare fraud after an investigation by the Wyoming County Department of Social Services found she had used a false address to collect $3,874 in benefits to which she was not entitled. She faces further court proceedings.
