Jury selection continues in Taglianetti murder case

MAYVILLE – Potential jurors will return Tuesday in the case of Anthony R. Taglianetti II, 42, charged with second-degree murder in the death of Keith Reed, former superintendent of Clymer Central Schools. Some potential jurors were selected Friday.

The selection process ended at 4:40 p.m. Friday. Judge John Ward announced that other matters are scheduled in his courtroom on Monday.

Ward gave all the group strict instructions not to talk to anyone about the case and to refrain from reading any news accounts or listening to other media.

Neither District Attorney David Foley nor Public Defender Nathaniel Barone would comment on Friday’s process. Jurors are being called individually into a room with both legal teams and the judge. After questioning, some are dismissed.

Opening arguments are scheduled for Oct. 3 and the trial is expected to last six to eight weeks.
