Local law firm Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman’s managing partner, Scott E. Friedman, recently authored a book titled “Family Business: New Planning Strategies for the 21st Century.” This is the fifth book he has written on family business. In addition, Friedman recently established a family business consulting firm called Next Gen Advisors that is focused on helping families plan their futures and transition their businesses from generation to generation.

The National Association for Adults With Special Learning Needs elected Kathy Houghton to its board of directors. Houghton, director of Program Services for Lancaster-based Literacy New York, will serve on the association’s Communications Committee. The association, founded in 1986, is an organization for educators, trainers, employers and provider of vocational rehabilitation and human services who serve the educational needs of adults with special learning needs.
