Musical fundraiser is benefit for veterans

A fundraiser sponsored by the local group known as VetsHERD, Helping Empower Returning and Disabled Veterans, is set for 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Tralf Music Hall, 622 Main St.

Among the entertainers scheduled to perform are the Lynne Fredricks Blues Band; the reunion of Mark Krurnowski with the Filter Kings, direct from Florida; the Seldom Seen Buffalo Nickel Band; the award-winning gospel group from St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church of Buffalo; and many more groups.

Raffles and prize drawings will also be part of the evening, according to Roger Beamer, who is organizing the event.

“All of the proceeds are going directly to helping returning veterans and their families in the Western New York community,” Beamer said. “The money often goes to making veterans’ homes accessible for them if they are disabled.”

Advanced ticket sales can be made through Ticketmaster or at the Tralf’s box office. The phone number for the box office is 852-2860.

VetsHERD started in 2010 and has assisted veterans with disabilities from various wars, Beamer said.
