Recovery of guns in 14th Street home leads to felony arrest

A Buffalo man is charged with felony weapons possession after police recovered several guns from a home on 14th Street.

The arrest by the Buffalo Police Department Strike Force occurred late last Sunday night, while officers were on routine foot patrol in the neighborhood and received information about a man carrying a gun, police said Saturday.

John Simmons, 19, of 14th Street was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of marijuana.

Police said they recovered a loaded shotgun found on a bed and three loaded handguns concealed in a toilet tank, along with several rounds of ammunition and a small quantity of drugs, in Simmons’ house in the 200 block of 14th.
