Joel D. Hackenburg, the younger suspect, was taken into custody after a six-month investigation into his alleged sale and trafficking of prescription drugs in the Medina area.
After a raid on his home at 117 Worthy Ave., Hackenburg was taken into custody on seven counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and four counts of criminal diversion of prescription medications and prescriptions.
After a separate raid, Angel Gonzalez, of Ricky Place, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count each of criminal sale and criminal diversion of prescription medications and prescriptions.
Arraigned separately before Ridgeway Town Justice Lawrence Sanderson, the two men were remanded to the Orleans County Jail pending further legal proceedings. Task Force and police department officials said they were working closely with Orleans County District Attorney Joseph V. Cardone in both drug probes.
