Offensive musical degrades Christians in the name of art
I was lucky enough to get a ticket to see the much-acclaimed musical, “The Book of Mormon.” The music and choreography were wonderful, but that was all that was wonderful. As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, I thought I had witnessed many things, but this absolutely took me by surprise. I was shocked and horrified not only at the offensive language that has unfortunately become a part of our everyday conversation, but the lack of respect and actual ridicule of our Christian faith.
Many people left disgusted with the presentation of vulgar acts and misrepresentation of Christian events. I read where it is thought that the Buffalo audience was not ready for Broadway theater. What trash is that? The Buffalo patrons of the arts have enjoyed and will enjoy many plays and musicals to come. But please don’t ask us to be a part of filth and degradation of our Christian faith in the name of art.
