The University at Buffalo appointed Jaekyung Lee dean of its Graduate School of Education. Lee is professor of counseling, school and educational psychology and a fellow of the American Educational Research Association. He has served as interim dean since July 2012. Lee earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
The Salvation Army, Buffalo Area Services appointed Laurie Elliott Krajna director of development. Krajna was chief development officer at Child & Family Services and graduated from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.
First Niagara Financial Group named Kevin Stoklosa senior vice president, director of accounting policy. Stoklosa was with the Financial Standards Accounting Board. He is a certified public accountant who earned his bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and his MBA from Canisius College.
Niagara Cerebral Palsy promoted Kristin M. Kowalski to human resources administrator. Kowalski is a certified professional in human resources with a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo.
The board of directors at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center elected Frank J. Polino chairman. Polino is managing director of Administration and Shared Services at First Niagara Bank. Other officers are: First vice chairman, Dennis J. Szefel, retired, Delaware North Companies; and second vice chairman, Louis J. Billittier Jr., owner, Chef’s Restaurant. Directors: Samuel J. Nussbaumer & Clarke appointed Noelle Miller a construction observer in its field engineering group. Miller is a graduate of Clarkson University.
SKM Group appointed April Churzynski graphic designer, John Loury senior account executive and Julie Desmond Schechter account director of direct marketing. Churzynski, who received her bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo, was a freelance graphic designer. Loury, previously with Advanced Marketing Direct, received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University at Buffalo. Schechter, previously with hawkeye|MOSAIC, is a graduate of St. Lawrence University.
Gross Shuman Brizdle & Gilfillan named Sarah P. Rera an associate attorney. Rera, an adjunct professor at Bryant and Stratton College, graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Law and earned her bachelor’s degree from St. John’s College.
DIGITS LLC, digital forensic examiners, appointed Christopher Puckett manager of its accident reconstruction unit. Puckett attended the New York State Police Academy, as well as the Institute of Police Technology and Management. He was an investigator with the New York State Police for 20 years.
