Astronics wins work on new business jet

Astronics Corp. has been picked to supply a pair of systems for a new business jet being developed by Swiss aircraft maker Pilatus Aircraft Ltd., the East Aurora aircraft lighting and electronics manufacturer said.

Astronics said it has won contracts to supply the secondary electronic power distribution system and the induction starter generator system for the twin-engine jet, although it did not disclose the value of either contract.

Both contracts will be handled by the company’s Astronics AES subsidiary in Washington State.

The initial deliveries of the Pilatus PC-24 jet are scheduled to begin in 2016.
