Ohio woman suspected of credit card theft here

WILSON – An elderly Lake Street woman has been victimized by credit card fraud twice within the past week, sheriff’s deputies said, but police may have a strong lead in the case.

The woman learned Thursday that someone had used her information to make a fraudulent purchase online.

Upon checking her credit card records, she also found an unauthorized purchase from, which police were able to trace to a woman in Columbus, Ohio.

In all, about $335 worth of fraudulent purchases were made on the victim’s credit card. An investigation into the incidents is continuing.
