Pair found in car charged with prostitution

Two South Buffalo residents face trespassing and prostitution charges after they were found half-naked Saturday in a parked car, Buffalo police said.

James E. Uptergrove, of Ryan Street, picked up a Hammerschmidt Avenue woman at 5:45 p.m. at Bailey Avenue and Seneca Street, police said, before driving to Smith Street.

Police found the two partially naked in a “compromising position,” according to the report, before arresting the pair on charges of prostitution and trespassing. Uptergrove allegedly paid the woman $20.
