Where We Live: Amherst

After a three-week break, the Amherst Town Board will meet Monday night for a 3 p.m. work session and 7 p.m. regular meeting in council chambers of the Amherst Municipal Building, 5583 Main St.

The debate over food trucks may again take center stage as the town grapples with how to regulate the rolling kitchens.

After receiving an earful from food truck owners who consider the town’s first set of proposed laws too restrictive, officials went back to the drawing board this week to revise their plans.

But members of the Western New York Food Truck Association indicated last week that they aren’t satisfied with the town’s revised laws, which would limit where the trucks can sell food and for how long.

Another “food fight” may be brewing, they said, and residents may see more public debate about the issue Monday.

Also this week:

• The Williamsville North PTSA will hold a farmer’s market from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the high school, 195 Hopkins Road.

Wicker baskets will be used to display a variety of fruits, vegetables, and other healthy snacks, organizers said.

• The ECC Jazz Kats will hold a jazz performance 7 p.m. Monday at the Village of Williamsville Meeting House, 5658 Main St. The performance, directed by Jim Runfola, will be free.
