Christian recording artist Carman will present a concert and gospel message at 7 p.m. Friday in Evangel Assembly, 8180 Greiner Road, Clarence.

A $10 guaranteed seating pass is available from the local sponsor church, Wheatfield Community Church, by calling 553-3794.

VIP tickets are $20 each and include a free CD, a meet and greet after the concert and preferred seating. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Carman has 15 gold- or platinum-selling CDs.


The A Cappella Choir of Bowling Green State University in Ohio will perform a program of sacred and secular choral music at 7 p.m. May 6 in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo, at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and West Ferry Street.

The sacred portion of the program will feature a variety of styles ranging from 16th century pieces in English and Latin to a contemporary setting of Psalm 139 by Swedish composer Sven-David Sandström to African-American spirituals and a gospel song.

The A Cappella Choir consists of 30 singers who are primarily music majors. Mark Munson is director of the chorus. A free-will offering will be accepted.
