Bisons washed out at Lehigh Valley

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Another Buffalo Bisons game day. Another day of rain.

Friday night’s game between the Bisons and the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs was postponed after heavy rain moved through the area.

The game was to open a four-game series between the teams. They will try for a doubleheader today at 5:35 p.m. (Radio 1520).

The Bisons have played 12 games. Seven of the games on their schedule have been altered by weather.

The Herd is coming off a four-game sweep of Syracuse and a historic win over the Chiefs at NBT Bank Stadium on Thursday.

Buffalo won that game, 27-9, setting numerous Modern Era records, including most runs in a game, most hits in a game (29), largest margin of victory and tied the mark for most runs in an inning (10 in the seventh).

Jim Negrych hit for the cycle in the game, going 4 for 7 with a walk and four runs scored. Moises Sierra had a six-hit game while Luis Jimenez drove in eight runs.

Negrych’s .515 average is the best in professional baseball.

Marty Brown is now tied with Terry Collins for the second most wins by a manager in the Bisons’ Modern Era.

This will be the first meeting between the Bisons and Lehigh Valley this year. Last season, the Herd went 8-7 against the IronPigs. This year, Buffalo is 5-1 on the road.
