"Frank"
95, of Miami, FL, went to be with his loving wife and youngest son on April 1, 2013. His surviving son and daughter were at his side. Born in the Bronx, NY, grew up on Staten Island and married in Buffalo to the beautiful Ruth Scherr in 1944. Frank served in the Army as a Master Sergeant and was a veteran of WWII and Korea, retiring in 1962. He then joined the newly-formed NY State Meat and Food Division as Chief Food Inspector, retiring again in 1982. Frank and Ruth then divided their time between homes in Miami and Albany. Members of the Schenectady Yacht Club since 1981, he and Ruth spent many a summer day aboard their 42 foot boat at the club and enjoyed fun in the sun in Florida until Ruth passed away in November 2009, after 65 years of marriage. He then moved permanently to Miami. Frank is survived by his loving son Thomas Duane of Florida and daughter Sharon (Roman) Fedirka of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his youngest son Robert in 2009. He was the grandfather of Michael (Valerie) Duane, Kelley T. (Travis) Campbell, both of Florida, John Fedirka of Massachusetts, William (Sarah) Fedirka of Ohio, as well as Christine Beatti of Rennselaer, Sherri (Danny) Riccio of Colonie and Thomas (Ann) Duane of Selkirk. Frank was also survived by his great-grandchildren: Charlotte Duane, Carl and William Fedirka, Cassie and Jeff Beattie, Dominic and Christopher Riccio and Angelina and Gianna Duane, great-great-grandchild Erica Beattie and his loving niece Beverley Bell. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Bocketti Funeral Home , 336 Third St., Troy, NY, Thursday, April 18 from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place on Friday, April 19 at 10:30 AM at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY, where he will come to final rest with his wife and son. All are invited to attend.
